Wyoming County Jail Policies and Procedures
Intake Procedures
The intake procedure at the Wyoming County Jail is made up of each of the following steps:
They’ll put you in a holding cell. If the jail is busy, you will have to wait a while to get processed.
The first thing you will have to to is you have to answer a bunch of questions, like what is your legal name, street address, date of birth and a contact person, and also, you will also be asked about your mental and medical history. Next, you will be issued an inmate number and your fingerprints will be taken. Then, all personal property will be taken from you and stored until you get discharged from jail.
You will get to use the telephone so you can contact a member of your family, friend, or loved one.
If they expect that you will make bail and be released quickly, you might get to keep wearing your own clothes, but if you are not expected to make bail quickly you will be issued a jail jumpsuit.
Discharge Procedures
When you finally post bail, you will be allowed to go home after you get discharged. This process may take anywhere between 15 minutes to all day. So, the faster you can pay your bail, the quicker you can get out of jail. Also, it might depend on whether you’ve been given a cash bond or if a judge still needs to figure out the bail amount. For lesser charges, you will simply be booked and get released without having to post bail. When you have served your sentence and are given a discharge date, you should plan to be discharged at any time that day – but usually in the morning.

How To Save Money on Inmate Calls
Correctional facility phone service providers have exclusive contracts at each facility that they operate the phone services for, which means that they get to set the prices. The profits these phone service providers make from all of the inmate phone calls are split with the facility, so there is no incentive for the jail or the counselors at the facility to show inmates or their family how to save money on inmate phone calls at the Wyoming County Jail. The prices are posted and there are at least two types of prices based on where the inmate is calling. These three factors will determine the cost of an inmate phone call: Where you are located; Where your inmate is located, What type of phone number you have.
For example, if your inmate is in federal prison, if you get a new local number then this will decrease your inmate’s phone call rate from $.21 per minute to only $.06 per minute.
For state prisons and local jails figuring out how to lower your inmates phone charges is more difficult. ArrestedResources.com keeps up to date with all of the changes that affect your inmate’s rate and in most cases is able to offer you an inmate calling number that will save you a lot of money on calling your inmate. In some cases, we will not be able to save you money on your inmate calls, and in these cases we will not offer you an inmate calling number. In cases like this, the jail has set their calling prices so high that nobody will be able to save you money.
