You have to answer some basic questions, like what is your full name, home address, birth date and contact person, and they’ll also ask you about your psychological and medical history. If you are expected to be released shortly, you might get to wear your street clothes, if not you you will have to wear a jail issued jumpsuit.
Discharge Procedures
Once you are able to post bail, you will be allowed to go home after you get discharged. Getting discharged takes anywhere from 15 minutes to all day. In other words the faster you post bail, the sooner you will get discharged. It also depends on whether or not you’ve got a bond amount or if a magistrate has to determine the bail amount.
