Lincoln County Jail Policies and Procedures
Intake Procedures
The jail intake process at the Lincoln County Jail includes the following steps:
You will be placed in a holding cell. When the jail is busy, you will have to wait, sometimes for many hours, before you get processed.
First you will answer a bunch of questions, like your full legal name, home address, birth date and contact person, and they’ll also ask you about your mental and medical history. Next, you will be issued an inmate ID number and your fingerprints will be taken. Then, all of your personal property will be taken away from you and stored until you are discharged.
You will get to use the phone to call a member of your family, friend, or loved one.
If you are expected to be released shortly, they will let you wear your street clothes, but if you are not expected to make bail quickly you will be issued a jail issued jumpsuit.
Discharge Procedures
When you finally post bail, you will be allowed to go home after you get discharged. Getting discharged from jail will take between 10 minutes to many hours. In other words the quicker bail is posted, the sooner you will get discharged. How quickly you get discharged depends on whether or not you’ve been given a cash bond amount or if a judge must determine how much to set your bail at. For minor charges, you will get booked and released on your own recognizance. When you have served your sentence and know the date of your release, plan to be discharged between 9am and noon.

The prices are posted and there are at least two pricing tiers based on where the inmate is calling. These three factors will determine the cost of an inmate phone call: Where you are located; Where your inmate is located, What type of phone number you have.
For example, if your inmate is in federal prison, if you get a new local number then this will decrease your inmate’s phone call rate from $.21 per minute to only $.06 per minute.
For state prisons and local jails figuring out how to lower your inmates phone charges is more difficult. ArrestedResources.com keeps up to date with all of the changes that affect your inmate’s calling rate and in most cases is able to offer you an inmate calling number that will save you significantly on calling your inmate. There are some circumstances where we will not be able to save you money on your inmate calls, and therefore we will not offer you an inmate calling number. In cases like this, the jail has set their phone rates in a way that nobody can save you money.
