Wayne County Detention Center Policies and Procedures
Intake Procedures
The intake process at the Wayne County Detention Center takes you through these steps:
They’ll put you in a holding cell. If the jail is really busy, you will have to wait a while to get processed.
You will have to answer some questions, such as your full name, street address, birth date and contact person, and you will also be asked about your medical and psychological history. Next, you’ll be given an inmate number and you will get fingerprinted. Then, any personal property you have will be taken away from you and stored until you are discharged.
They will allow you to use the phone in order to call a family member, friend, or loved-on.
If you are expected to be released quickly, you will be allowed to wear your own clothes, if not you will be issued a jail issued jumpsuit.
Discharge Procedures
When you finally post bail, you will get discharged from jail. This process will take anywhere from 30 minutes to hours or even all day long. In other words the faster you can pay your bail, the faster you will be freed. Also, how fast you get released will depend on whether you’ve got a cash bond or if the judge still needs to decide on how much to set your bail at. For minor charges, you will be booked and then released on your recognizance without having to pay bail. When you get to the end of your sentence and have a discharge date, expect to be released that morning.

Correctional facility phone service companies have a monopoly at each facility that they have a contract with, which means that they they control the prices. The rates are posted and there are at least two types of prices based on where the inmate is calling. The following three things will determine the cost of an inmate phone call: Where you are located; Where your inmate is located, What type of phone number you have.
For example, if your inmate is in federal prison, if you get a new local number then this will decrease your inmate’s phone call rate from $.21 per minute to only $.06 per minute.
For state prisons and local jails learning how to decrease your inmates phone charges can be more difficult. ArrestedResources.com is an expert in keeping up with all of the changes that affect your inmate’s calling rate and in most cases is able to offer you an inmate calling number that will save you a lot of money on inmate phone calls. There are some prisons or jails where we won’t be able to save you any money, and in these cases we will not offer you an inmate calling number. In these cases, the jail or prison has set their phone call rates in a way that nobody can save you money.
