The first step is that you will answer a bunch of questions, such as what is your full name, street address, birth date and a contact person, and you will also be asked about your medical and psychological history. Next, you will be issued an inmate number and your fingerprints will be taken. Then, all personal property will be taken from you and stored until you are discharged.
You will then be allowed to make a phone call so you can talk to a family member, friend, or loved-on.
If you think you will get released quickly, you might get to keep wearing street clothes, but if you are not expected to make bail quickly you you will be given a jail uniform.
Discharge Procedures
Once bail has been posted, you will be discharged from jail. This process may take between 15 minutes to quite a few hours. Or, simply, the faster you can post bail, the quicker you will get out of jail.
