You will get put in a holding cell. When the jail is busy, you may not be processed immediately.
First, you have to answer a number of questions, like your full legal name, address, birth date and an emergency contact person, and they’ll also ask about your medical and psychological history. Next, you’ll be given an inmate ID number and you will get fingerprinted. Then, all of your personal property will get taken away from you and stored until you get released from jail.
They will let you use the telephone in order to talk to a member of your family, friend, or somebody else who can help you get out.
If you are expected to be released quickly, they will let you skip the jumpsuit and keep wearing your own clothes, but if you are not expected to make bail quickly you will be issued a jail issued jumpsuit.
Discharge Procedures
Once bail has been posted, you will be allowed to leave jail. Getting discharged from jail may take between 15 minutes to all day long. Or, simply, the faster you can post bail, the sooner you will be released. Also, it might depend on whether or not you have a bond amount or if a judge still needs to determine the bail amount. For state prisons and local jails finding out how to decrease your inmates phone charges can be more difficult. ArrestedResources.com keeps up to date with all of the changes that affect your inmate’s rate and in most cases is able to offer you an inmate calling number that will save you significantly on inmate phone calls.
