First you will have to answer some basic questions, such as what is your full legal name, your address, date of birth and an emergency contact, and they’ll also ask you about your medical and mental history. Next, you will be issued an inmate ID and you will get fingerprinted. Then, any personal property you have will be taken from you and stored until you are released.
They will let you make a telephone call to get in touch with family, friends, or loved one.
If they expect that you will make bail and be released quickly, you might be allowed to wear your own clothes, but if you are not expected to make bail quickly you will be issued a jail jumpsuit.
Discharge Procedures
Once bail has been posted, you will be discharged from jail. Getting discharged may take from 15 minutes to hours or even all day long. In simple terms, the faster bail is posted, the faster you will be released. Also, how fast you get released depends on whether you’ve been given a cash bond amount or if a judge must decide on the bail amount. How To Save Money on Inmate Calls
Correctional facility phone service companies have exclusive contracts at each facility that they operate, which means that they get to set the prices. The profits these phone service providers make from all inmate phone calls are shared with the facility, so there is no incentive for the jail or the counselors at the facility to show inmates or their family how to save money on inmate phone calls at the Clay County Jail. The prices are posted and there are at least two different prices based on where the inmate is calling. The following three things will determine the cost of an inmate phone call: Where you are located; Where your inmate is located, What type of phone number you have.
For example, if your inmate is in federal prison, if you get a new local number then this will decrease your inmate’s phone call rate from $.21 per minute to only $.06 per minute.
For state prisons and local jails figuring out how to lower your inmates phone charges is more difficult. ArrestedResources.com is an expert in keeping up with all of the changes that affect your inmate’s rate and in most cases is able to offer you an inmate calling number that will save you a lot of money on inmate phone calls. There are some circumstances where we won’t be able to save you money on your inmate calls, and in these cases we will not offer you an inmate calling number. In cases like this, the facility has set their inmate calling prices so high that nobody can save you money.
