Cambria County Prison Policies and Procedures
Intake Procedures
The jail intake procedure at the Cambria County Prison is made up of each of the following steps:
They’ll put you in a holding cell. If the jail is really busy, it will take a while to get processed.
First, you will answer a number of questions, like your legal name, your address, date of birth and a contact person, and they’ll also ask you about your medical and mental history. Next, you’ll be given an inmate number and you will get fingerprinted. Then, all personal property will get taken away from you and will be stored until you are released.
They will allow you to make a phone call so you can talk to a family member, friend, or loved-on.
If they expect that you will make bail and be released quickly, you might be able to wear your street clothes, if not you will be issued a jail uniform.
Discharge Procedures
When you finally post bail, you will be allowed to leave jail. Getting discharged from jail may take anywhere from 30 minutes to many hours. So, the faster you post bail, the faster you will get discharged from jail. How quickly you get discharged can depend on whether you’ve got a bond amount or if the judge has to figure out how much your bail will be. For a minor charge, you will simply be booked and get released without having to post bail. When you have completed your jail sentence and are given a discharge date, plan to get released between 9am and noon.

How To Save Money on Inmate Calls
Correctional facility phone service companies have exclusive contracts at each facility that they have a contract with, which means that they they control how much it costs to make phone calls. The money these phone service providers make from all phone calls that inmates make are split with the facility, so there is no incentive for the jail or the counselors at the facility to show inmates or their family how to save money on inmate phone calls at the Cambria County Prison. The rates are posted and there are at least two different prices based on where the inmate is calling. These three things will determine how much an inmate phone call will cost: Where you are located; Where your inmate is located, What type of phone number you have.
For example, if your inmate is in federal prison, if you get a new local number then this will decrease your inmate’s phone call rate from $.21 per minute to only $.06 per minute.
For the other correctional facilities like state prisons, and local and county jails finding out how to decrease your inmates phone charges is more difficult. ArrestedResources.com is an expert in keeping up with all of the changes that affect your inmate’s rate and in most cases is able to offer you an inmate calling number that will save you significantly on how much it costs you to call your inmate. There are some prisons or jails where we will not be able to save you money on your inmate calls, and in these cases we will not offer you an inmate calling number. In cases like this, the jail has set their phone rates in a way that nobody will be able to save you money.
