Next, you will be issued an inmate ID and you will get fingerprinted. Then, all personal property will be taken away from you and stored until you are released.
They will allow you to make a phone call to get in touch with a member of your family, friend, or somebody else who can help you get out.
If you are expected to be released shortly, you might get to wear your own clothes, if not you will be issued a jail issued jumpsuit.

When you pay your bail, you will be allowed to go home after you get discharged. The discharge process will take between 10 minutes to all day long. So, the faster you can pay your bail, the faster you will get discharged from jail. Also, how fast you get released might depend on whether or not you’ve been given a cash bond amount or if the judge must figure out the amount of bail to be set.
